Free speech is totally awesome to liberals…as long as it’s not Conservative speech.

University Board Votes to Keep Chick-fil-A on Campus Despite Protests

3 May

Elon University’s board of trustees voted to keep Chick-fil-A on campus despite protests from the “tolerant” student government.

The Elon University board of trustees voted last week to keep a Chick-fil-A on campus despite a vote from the school’s student government to remove the popular fast food chain for its president’s stance against gay marriage.

The movement to oust the chicken sandwich restaurant began last year when company president Truett Cathy stated his opposition to gay marriage…

…Student reaction to the decision has been mixed.

Cameron Saucier, a sophomore at Elon, said he believes there are more important things for the board to worry about than a restaurant primarily known for its chicken sandwiches.

“We’ve had several public forums and committees to discuss whether to keep a fast food chain when we have tuition hikes coming up next year and other issues that need to be addressed,” Saucier stated. “It’s kind of ridiculous.”

He said he believes the entire Chick-fil-A controversy was a result of political correctness taking over his college campus and is representative of how opposing thoughts are not welcomed at Elon.

“Political correctness has just gone way too far on Elon’s campus and the whole incident should’ve never happened in the first place,” Saucier commented.

While Saucier seemed fine with the school’s decision, members of Elon’s LGBT community were offended that the school decided to keep the restaurant.

“The fact that Elon condones [Chick-fil-A] both surprises and upsets me,” Holly Brown, a member of the LGBT group Spectrum, told Elon Local News. “You would think preventing discrimination would be more important than a chicken sandwich.”

When Liberals Attack: Seattle May Day

2 May

Leftists in Seattle behaving about like you would expect yesterday.  One can only imagine what the reaction would be if a Conservative group did something like this.  Obama would probably already have a press conference scheduled to call for civility, or something.  But, since it’s people who side with Democrats on most issues, it will get hardly any coverage (if any) from the Democrat media.

In Seattle, protesters threw rocks and bottles at police officers and news crews. As they moved through downtown Seattle to another neighborhood, they flung construction street barriers, trash cans and newspaper bins on the streets in an attempt to stop police officers. Windows of businesses were broken and vehicles with people in them were banged around.

At one point, a crew from CBS Seattle affiliate KIRO-TV was surrounded by rowdy protesters. They spit and sprayed Silly String on KIRO reporter David Ham and hit his photographer, the station reports.

Perfect example of why you should not take Obama, Democrats or OWS seriously

14 Nov

Hey, remember when it was an outrage to Obama that AIG paid out $121 million in bonuses to its executives in 2009 after receiving a taxpayer-funded bailout?  Ah, the good ‘ole days!  Back then Obama stated “this is not just a matter of dollars and cents, it’s about our fundamental values.”  Democrat Barney Frank wasn’t too excited about it either.  Obama even made sure to remind the bankers at one meeting at the White House that “my administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

Yep, Obama and Democrats won’t stand for paying out millions in bonuses to executives of companies that received taxpayer-funded bailouts…their “fundamental values” won’t allow it.  Or will they:  Ten executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are scheduled to get $12.9 million in bonus pay after meeting modest performance targets.  (Did you get that…$12.9 million to TEN people!)  These were approved by The Federal Housing Finance Agency, the government regulator for Fannie and Freddie.  All of this, of course, after the federally backed mortgage giants received nearly $170 billion in taxpayer bailouts just two years ago.

If we don’t hear from Obama soon on this, he should no longer be taken seriously.  It will be another glaring example of his blatant hypocrisy. Additionally, if this does not become a major issue to the OWS protesters, don’t take them seriously either.  If they are unwilling to criticize the “1%” in government, then no one should care what they think about the “1%” in the private sector.

Any chance the Tea Party would handle rape, sexual assault or drug abuse “internally”?

1 Nov

From Biggovernment.com, an OWS protester is interviewed and sheds light on what is going on in Zuccotti Park in New York City.  Different OWS protests in other cities around the country are also experiencing the same issues with sexual assaults, rape, violence and drug abuse.

The organizers of the OWS protests are encouraging their fellow protesters to keep quiet and not report anything to the police.  They prefer to handle these situations “internally.”

Amazing.

If a single incident like this happened at a Tea Party event, you’d see every Democrat that could find a camera on television freaking out.  The liberal media would be calling for government intervention at the highest levels.  Mayor Bloomberg would be at the front of the line condemning their actions and would have them removed immediately.  The National Organization for Women (N.O.W.) would be condemning the Tea Party with endless ads and protests.  Every Democrat from Obama to Pelosi to Wasserman-Schultz would be vilifying Republicans for their ties to this group and call on them to publicly denounce them.

Democrats would ask out loud “what kind of group would allow sexual assaults, rape, violence and drug abuse and not even report it to the police? How could a group allow their women to be raped and assaulted?  What message does it send to children by allowing drug use and violence?”

But, it’s not the Tea Party.  It’s Occupy Wall St. (OWS).  OWS represents something VERY important for Democrats.  It represents a group of people taking the focus off of the actual culprits (politicians) and turning it on someone else.  They have to be laughing themselves silly that so many Americans, particularly liberals, think that all of our problems can be laid exclusively at the feet of Wall St. fat cats.  I’m sure that there are plenty of Wall St companies and individuals who share some of the blame, but they did not act alone.  Who was it pressuring banks to ease their lending standards so that more people could achieve the “American dream” of home ownership which led to the housing collapse?  Politicians.  Who was it looking the other way (and getting rich) while Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were backing risky loans for years?  Politicians.  Who is it that keeps spending billions of dollars we don’t have on companies run by their friends and campaign donors?  Politicians.

The one good thing about the OWS protests is that it has provided another example of the hypocrisy of liberals.  They are willing to put up with a little rape, sexual assault, violence and drug use if it helps their chances at getting reelected.

“Some occupiers are more equal than others”

21 Oct

If you’ve never read Animal Farm by George Orwell, you should.  Hot Air correctly points out that the OWS protesters are becoming what they despise.  The protest organizers in New York City are getting worried about the complaints coming in from the local residents, who are growing tired of the drum beating, harassment and public defecation. Apparently, the protest organizers are cracking down on their own people:

“But the drums were fun. They brought in publicity and money. Many non-facilitators were infuriated by the decision and claimed that it had been forced through the General Assembly.

“They’re imposing a structure on the natural flow of music,” said Seth Harper, an 18-year-old from Georgia. “The GA decided to do it … they suppressed people’s opinions. I wanted to do introduce a different proposal, but a big black organizer chick with an Afro said I couldn’t.”

To Shane Engelerdt, a 19-year-old from Jersey City and self-described former “head drummer,” this amounted to a Jacobinic betrayal. “They are becoming the government we’re trying to protest,” he said. “They didn’t even give the drummers a say … Drumming is the heartbeat of this movement. Look around: This is dead, you need a pulse to keep something alive.”

Suddenly, the drummers looked from pig to man and man to pig and couldn’t tell the difference“:

“The drummers claim that the finance working group even levied a percussion tax of sorts, taking up to half of the $150-300 a day that the drum circle was receiving in tips. ‘Now they have over $500,000 from all sorts of places,’ said Engelerdt. ‘We’re like, what’s going on here? They’re like the banks we’re protesting.’”

And the last, and most awesome part, is the protest organizers are telling the animals protesters that they can no longer talk to the press:

As the communal sleeping bag argument between Lauren Digion and Sage Roberts threatened to get out of hand, a facilitator in a red hat walked by, brow furrowed. “Remember? You’re not allowed to do any more interviews,” he said to Digion. She nodded and went back to work. But when Roberts shouted, “Don’t tell me what to do!” Digion couldn’t hold back.

Someone has to be told what to do,” she said. “Someone needs to give orders. There’s no sense of order in this f*****g place.”

More here in a piece titled “The Organizers vs. the Organized in Zuccotti Park.”

“All occupiers are equal — but some occupiers are more equal than others”

So, the OWS organizers are now taking tip money from fellow protesters and they are telling them who they can and cannot talk to.  You really can’t make this stuff up!

Racist cupcakes?

28 Sep

PajamasMedia has a piece today title “Racist Cupcakes?  Berkeley Erupts over Affirmative Action Satire,” written by a blogger who calls himself Zombie:

“The U.C. Berkeley College Republicans struck a national nerve today by holding a bake sale with racially discriminatory pricing: Higher prices for white and Asian students, lower prices for black, Hispanic and female students. Why the intentional discrimination? To protest a pending new statewide law which attempts to re-introduce Affirmative Action into university admission standards, something that was been banned years ago with California’s popular Constitutional amendment requiring race-neutral admissions.

The purposely inflammatory gag was very clever: the goal was to make everyone point out how racist the cupcake prices were, at which point the young Republicans reply, “Exactly! Racial discrimination is unfair. Thanks for making our point for us!”

As you will see from the link, the College Republicans had their cupcake prices written on poster boards.  The prices are as follows:

White/Caucasian – $2.00

Asian/Asian American – $1.50

Latino/Hispanic – $1.00

Black/African American – $0.75

Native American – $0.25

$0.25 Off for ALL Women

As you can imagine, the liberals, leftists, Communists, etc that are in large number at a university like UC Berkeley were not too happy about this.  They had their usual hate-filled comments and signs…

The link above has several pictures and a video.  I highly recommend checking it out.

Rich liberal protester pretends he and his family are victims (and busted in the lie)

27 Sep

Watch the video below of Robert Stephens.  Robert decided to go to NYC this past weekend to participate in the “Day of Rage” march on Wall Street.  He made a complete fool of himself and was arrested.  It’s very embarrassing and painful to watch his fake, phony outrage in his performance for the camera.

More on Robert Stephens and his lies from The Blaze:

Robert Stephens graduated from Carleton College (average cost: $42,942/year) in 2010 and now studies law at The George Washington University Law School (average cost: $70,449/year).  His father has a Ph.D. and two master’s degrees; his mother also has a master’s degree.  Only in America could a kid have been blessed with so much… and only in America could he still claim to be a victim. America’s capitalist society has apparently leveled a grave injustice against his family and Robert will not stand for it.”

“There’s just one problem: Robert Stephens’ story is (surprise!) completely bogus.

Phone inquiries into the county property records & taxpayer services office reveal that the Stephens family home is not and never has been in foreclosure, that property taxes had been paid in full this year and the remaining balance on their mortgage for the half-million dollar homeis less than one year’s worth of tuition+fees at their son’s law school.

The nail in this empty protest‘s coffin is a delightful phone conversation I just had with Robert’s mother, Marquita, where she admitted Chase Bank indeed was not “taking” their home from them.”
