Why would Obama and Democrats advertise plans to abandon white working class voters?

Rush Limbaugh again analyzed the Democrats’ plans to abandon white working class voters in the 2012 elections today on his show.  He was referring to the article yesterday in the NY Times titled “The Future of the Obama Coalition.”

Apparently, according to the author of the piece, this is the plan (emphasis mine):

For decades, Democrats have suffered continuous and increasingly severe losses among white voters. But preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class.

All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left coalition made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment — professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists — and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic.

Now, why on Earth would anyone, particularly the person who is supposed to be the President of ALL Americans, advertise that they no longer will try to attract white working class voters?  Why would he not want a message, a platform, policies, etc. that would appeal to as many Americans as possible?

Could it be because he knows that he is in so much trouble politically that he believes that his best shot at getting his new “coalition” motivated is to advertise that he isn’t worried about those pesky white people?  Why else would you advertise something this stupid?  What does it say about his “coalition” if this is what gets them fired up?

But, in Obama’s defense, he cannot (repeat cannot) run on his record, his handling of the economy or his leadership.  So this is all he has.  He will use class warfare to continue to pit groups of Americans against each other along racial lines and economic lines.   We’ve seen the class warfare over the past few months with Obama’s nonstop attacks on the achievers (the “rich”), pretending that they don’t pay their “fair share” (whatever that is).  He wants nothing more than to punish these people by transferring their hard earned wealth to his preferred “coalition.”  Never mind the fact that “rich” people are not the reason our country is in such a mess.  Rich people don’t blow trillions of taxpayer dollars each year.  Rich people don’t spend billions of dollars on wars that we can no longer afford.  Politicians do!

I guess the next phase has begun:  make it plain who IS part of his coalition and who is NOT (white working class).  This is going to get ugly…and we have have ” The Great Uniter ” to thank.
