NPR Executive: “Conservatives Are Seriously Racist, Racist People”

9 Mar

Those of you who listen to NPR because they are not left-wing or right-wing might want to reconsider.  Most people understand that is obviously not the case with NPR.  They are anything but.  However, if you listen to NPR CEO, Vivian Schiller, NPR does nothing but offer “journalism that presents no particular bias.”  Right.

“NPR executive Ron Schiller bashes conservatives, Republicans, and the Tea Party as “white, gun-toting … xenophobic … seriously racist people.” The big news for me comes when Schiller, who thinks he’s meeting with representatives from the fictitious Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) to discuss a $5 million donation to NPR to help MEAC “spread Sharia worldwide.”

Schiller goes on to describe liberals as more intelligent and informed than conservatives. “In my personal opinion, liberals today might be more educated, fair and balanced than conservatives.”

Update:  NPR CEO Resigns. Vivian Schiller is out.  NPR Board Chairman Dave Edwards on her departure:

“The events that took place [particularly Ron Schiller’s statements and Juan Williams’ dismissal] became such a  distraction to the organization that in the board’s mind it hindered Vivian Schiller’s ability to lead the organization going forward.” More on her resignation.

Juan Williams, who was fired last year by NPR, has weighed in.  (Emphasis mine) “This was an act of incredible condescension,” said Williams. “The rank hypocrisy of his remarks was telling for me. They will say things to your face about how there’s no liberal orthodoxy at NPR, how they play it straight, but now you see it for what it is. They prostitute themselves for money.”
