Death=Political Opportunity for Democrats?

14 Jan

I find it very unsettling when Democrats use death and tragedies as moments of political opportunity.  They waste no time using these moments to blame Republicans, talk radio, or anyone who disagrees with them.  A few examples:

1.  Bill Clinton tried to blame the Oklahoma City bombing on talk radio, stating “We hear so many loud and angry voices in America today whose sole goal seems to be to try to keep some people as paranoid as possible and the rest of us all torn up and upset with each other…They spread hate. They leave the impression that, by their very words, that violence is acceptable….I’m sure you are now seeing the reports of some things that are regularly said over the airwaves in America today. Well, people like that who want to share our freedoms must know that their bitter words can have consequences, and that freedom has endured in this country for more than two centuries because it was coupled with an enormous sense of responsibility.”

Actually, much evidence points to the incidents at Ruby Ridge and Waco that led to the Oklahoma City bombing by Timothy McVeigh.

2.  Last year, when Joe Stack flew a plane into an IRS building, liberals tried to blame it on Tea Party members. Not so much.

3.  In August 2009, Democrats in Denver tried to blame conservative Tea Party activists and Obamacare foes of vandalism at the party’s downtown headquarters.  Turns out it was a far-left anarchist, who later pleaded guilty.

4.  In August 2010, Rep. Russ Carnahan’s (D-CO) office was reportedly vandalized and “firebombed.”  Democrats tried to blame it on a Tea Party member, stating “given what we know of him — 50, white, angry — he certainly fits the demographics of a Tea Party member.” Turns out it was a disgruntled progressive activist employed by Russ Carnahan, who was upset because he did not get paid.

To make matters worse, liberals routinely suppress stories about murderers or criminals if they are committed by people within their protected groups or are supporters of liberal causes:

1.  Last year, the left tried to spin the Discover Channel shooter’s link to radical environmentalism.

2.  In 2009, the media tried to blame the FT. Hood massacre on the military and “stress,” instead of blaming the radical Muslim, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who once praised suicide bombers.  “The obvious purpose was to turn our eyes away from Islamism and toward psychiatric instability as a motive.”

Now, the left is working day and night trying to blame the AZ shooting on Sarah Palin for using a political target map, which included the district of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.  How is that different than far-left websites like the Daily Kos, who included Gabrielle Gifford in their “target list” of Blue Dog Democrats to take out.  They went further stating that “not all of these people will get or even deserve primaries, but this vote certainly puts a bulls eye on their district.” Hmm….”target list” and “bulls eye.”  Sounds very similar to the language Sarah Palin used.

What about when Democrats use language that could be perceived as inciting violence?

Was Obama inciting violence when he said “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun” ?

Were liberals inciting violence when they compared Bush to Hitler, hung him in effigy, fantasized about his death, and even made a movie where Bush was assassinated by a sniper?

For more examples, here is a list of death wishes against Conservatives from liberals.  Some of my favorites are:

1.  “MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in 2009 fantasized about the death of Rush Limbaugh: “Somebody’s going to jam a CO2 pellet into his head and he’s going to explode like a giant blimp”

2.  “Also on his radio show, in 2010, Schultz shouted: “Dick Cheney’s heart’s a political football. We ought to rip it out and kick it around and stuff it back in him!

Last year, Democrat pollster, Mark Penn, said Obama needs a moment like Clinton had after the Oklahoma City bombing. Really?  Is that what it takes for a Democrat to connect with the American public….a tragedy?  Well, it looks like the left has gotten their wish with the AZ shootings. However, their response and attempts to tie it to Conservatives, who had nothing to do with it, has been embarrassing.

Calls for civility from liberals is laughable.  They routinely take to the airwaves, television and print to attack Conservatives and Republicans.  We never hear them calling for more civil discourse when the targets are Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, or Rush Limbaugh.  Apparently, it’s always “open season”on them.
